Description
How should I choose a Rear shock absorber for my electric car?
A high-quality shock absorber is not only more durable but also better in terms of damping performance, far from being too soft, too hard, oil leaks, noises, and other problems. For example, leiz shock absorbers, which have been built with great care, have won unanimous praise from vehicle manufacturers, dealers, and consumers for their outstanding product quality, manufacturing process, textural performance, and extreme cost performance, thanks to their strong strength in production, technology, capital, and management.
Test methods for Rear shock absorber
1. Stop the car after driving for 10km on the road with poor road conditions and touch the damper’s outer shell with your hand. If the casing is hot, it means there is no oil inside the damper, so enough oil should be added; if not, it means the damper is not working.
2. Press the bumper firmly and then release it. If the car jumps 2 or 3 times, the damper is working well.
3. When the car is running slowly, and the emergency brake is applied, if the car vibrates violently, it means there is a problem with the shock absorber.
4.Remove the damper and hold it upright, clamp the lower connection ring in a vise and pull and compress the damping rod several times; there should be a stable resistance at this time; the resistance when pulling up (recovery) should be greater than the resistance when pressing down, if the resistance is not stable or there is no resistance, it may be a lack of oil inside the damper or damage to the valve parts, the parts should be repaired or replaced.
After determining that the damper is faulty or has failed, the damper should be checked for oil leaks or signs of age-related oil leakage.
Ruptured and damaged oil seals and sealing washers, loose oil storage cylinder head nuts. It is possible that the oil seal or sealing washer has failed and should be replaced with a new seal. If the oil leak still cannot be eliminated, pull out the damper, and if you feel a jam or the weight is not the same, then further check whether the clearance between the piston and cylinder barrel is too large, whether the piston rod of the damper is bent, and whether there are scratches or pull marks on the surface of the piston rod and the cylinder barrel.
If there is no oil leakage from the damper, check whether the damper connecting pin, connecting rod, connecting hole, rubber, bushing, etc., are damaged, desoldered, broken, or fallen off. If the above checks are routine, the Rear shock absorber should be further disassembled to check whether the clearance between the piston and cylinder barrel is too large, whether the cylinder barrel is strained, whether the sealing of the valve is good, whether the fit between the valve and the valve seat is tight, and whether the extension spring of the shock absorber is too soft or broken, and repair it by grinding or replacing parts according to the situation.
Also, the failure of the Rear shock absorber to make a noise in actual use is mainly due to the collision of the shock absorber with the steel plate spring, frame, or axle, damage or detachment of the rubber gasket, and deformation of the Rear shock absorber dust cylinder, insufficient oil, etc. The cause should be identified and repaired.
When the resistance frequency is 100±1mm, the extension stroke’s resistance and compression stroke should comply with the regulations, which indicates that the damper is standard.
